Box Score
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ? In a game that saw no scoring in
the first 45 minutes, the Louisiana-Lafayette Rajin' Cajuns (4-7-1, 2-2) scored
three times in the second half giving them a 3-1 victory over the UALR Trojans
(6-6-1, 2-2).
The game's first goal came in the 55th minute when ULL's
Courtney Hofland scored her first goal of the season from 10 yards out off of a
pass from Heather Ulliman making the score 1-0 in favor of the Rajin' Cajuns.
ULL would then build their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Callie
Oliver, her second of the season, which came off of a rebound in the 64th
minute.
UALR would make it interesting late, however, as Grace Rich scored her team-best ninth
goal of the year in the 83rd minute from 15 yards out on a pass from teammate Alex Rustad which cut the ULL lead to
2-1.
The Trojans would not keep momentum for long though as
Oliver scored her second goal of the match just three minutes later, making the
score 3-1.
UALR will return to action on Oct. 10 when they play host
to Western Kentucky. The Trojans will look to
improve their Sun Belt record to 3-2 on the year and try not to lose their
second consecutive match. The Trojans have not lost two consecutive games since
they opened the season with back-to-back losses to Memphis
and Missouri State. Game time for Friday's game at Burns Park
is set for 7 p.m.
