Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ? The UALR Trojans soccer team (1-4) could not get anything geared up offensively as they were defeated by the Miami Hurricanes (4-0) in their home opener at Burns Park by the score of 3-0.
Jessica Wyble opened the scoring for the Hurricanes in the 28th minute when she connected from 35 yards out to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 advantage. Just four minutes later, Miami midfielder Paulelett Ricks-Chambers made it a 2-0 contest when she slipped a shot into the right center of the net past UALR goalkeeper Jane Picarelli.
The Trojans were unable to get off a shot in the first period compared to Miami's 15, five of which were on goal.
Things didn't get any easier in the second period for UALR as Miami's Brittney Steinbruch made it 3-0 in the first minute of the half on a shot from 20 yards out. The goal for Steinbruch was her fifth on the season. Beverly Goebel was credited with the assist for Miami.
UALR managed their only shot of the night by Alex Rustad, midway through the second period.
The Trojans will be back in action on Sunday, in search for their second win of the year, when they travel to Shreveport, La. To take on Centenary in a match that will kickoff at 1 p.m.
