Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The UALR women's soccer team (2-4) was unable to win its third consecutive game, as the Trojans fell to the No. 13 ranked Memphis Tigers (4-1), 6-0, Sunday afternoon at Burns Park.
The Tigers came out strong to start the game, scoring two goals in the first 24 minutes.
Memphis' first goal came in the 22nd minute, as Lizzy Hildebrandt was able to beat Jane Picarelli on a straightaway shot from 15 yards.
Julia Ignacio scored the second Tiger goal, putting one into the bottom left corner of the net from just a few yards out in the game's 24th minute.
The UALR defense was able to slow down the Memphis attack for the remainder of the half, keeping the Tiger lead at two at the intermission.
However, Memphis regained their offensive momentum in the second half, scoring four goals in the game's final 45 minutes.
The first two came off the foot of Ashley Berra, with the first coming in the 46th minute and the second in the 69th.
Alena Strnadova and Christabel Oduro scored the final two of the game, which came in the 75th and 82nd minutes, respectively.
For the game, the Tigers outshot the Trojans 30-4, including 14-2 in shots on goal. Dana Pearson and Alicia Irwin were responsible for the Trojans' two shots on goal.
Picarelli finished the contest with eight saves, giving her 33 for the year. The senior is now just 16 saves short of passing Marsha Stewart (2002-05) for first place on the school's all-time saves list.
UALR will return to action Friday, Sept. 10, when they will travel to Pine Bluff to take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a contest slated to begin at 5 p.m.
