Box Score STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Krista Lopez scored four goals as the No. 5-ranked Cowgirls (7-0) beat UALR (3-3) by a final of 7-0 at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex on Sunday. OSU put up 26 shots, including 14 on goal, en route to their fifth shutout win of the season.
The Cowgirls took a 5-0 lead into the half as Lopez scored three of her four goals in the game's opening period. A Lopez goal in the sixth minute put OSU up 1-0. Taylor Matthews made it a 2-0 contest in the 13th minute, and Lopez added her second of the match just two minutes later to give Oklahoma State a 3-0 lead 15 minutes into the contest. Another Lopez goal in the 22nd minute would be followed by an own goal in the 43rd minute and give the Cowgirls a five-goal advantage.
Matthews added her second goal of the match in the 49th minute and Lopez scored her fourth and final goal in the game's 51st minute to bring the contest to its 7-0 final.
The Trojans put up nine shots on the afternoon. Senior Christina Veasley led the way with three, all on goal, while senior Rachael Maina put up two.
Junior Michelle Pittman made five saves in 53 minutes of action. In her first career appearance, freshman Rebecca Clements made one save in 37 minutes.
Oklahoma State led UALR in corner kicks, 7-2, and was whistled for eight fouls to the Trojans' seven.
The Trojans will return to the pitch on Friday, September 10, when they travel to El Paso, Texas, for a matchup against UTEP. First kick is slated for 7 p.m.
