Troy Tops UALR with Second-Half Score

Box Score

LITTLE ROCK – UALR (3-9-0, 0-3-0 SBC) dropped a 1-0 match to Troy (6-7-0, 2-1-0 SBC) Sunday afternoon at the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex. For the second straight match, a second-half scrum in the box resulted in the only goal of the contest for a UALR opponent.

Troy broke a scoreless tie in the 54th minute when Abby Reynolds rebounded home her fourth goal of the season. Once the ball rolled away from the congestion in the box, Reynolds was able to get a clean look and connected to provide Troy with all the offense it needed.

Freshman Sara Cavanagh made four stops for UALR but was forced out of the game following an injury in the 68th minute of the match. Junior Kylie Wilson played the remaining 22:28 in goal for the Trojans.

Madison Winter made three saves while playing the entire match in goal for Troy.

Troy finished Sunday's match with an 18-12 lead in shots, including a 6-3 edge in shots on goal. Senior Adrianna Queen led UALR with five shots on the day. Reynolds and Necee Jennings each put up four shots to lead Troy, while Reynolds led the visiting team with three shots on goal.

UALR held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks, including a 3-1 advantage in the second half.

UALR will hit the road next weekend for a pair of matches against Louisiana (Oct. 11) and ULM (Oct. 13). The Trojans play their final two home matches of the season the following weekend, hosting Georgia State (Oct. 18) and Western Kentucky (Oct. 20) at the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex.
