LITTLE ROCK – It's rivalry week in Little Rock as the Trojan soccer team is set to take on Arkansas State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

All students attending the game will receive double points in their Maroon Mob app that they can use to redeem for prizes throughout the year. Trojan supporters in attendance will also receive free schedule fans.

The Trojans may be coming off consecutive losses to ULM and South Alabama last weekend, but Little Rock is also coming off consecutive wins against Arkansas State. Little Rock defeated the Red Wolves 2-1 in 2015 when Quin Wilkes scored late in regulation to force overtime and again in the extra period to give Little Rock the win. The Trojans also defeated Arkansas State 2-1 in 2014.

Defense has remained a hallmark of the Trojans this year, as they have given up just 10 goals in their 12 games. Little Rock is ranked third in goals allowed in the Sun Belt Conference this year and fourth in the Sun Belt in goals against average. Little Rock has only allowed three goals in its four conference games so far.

Last weekend against ULM and South Alabama, Little Rock fell by scores of 1-0 each time. But the Trojans tested the Warhawks throughout that game, forcing goalie Brooke-Lynn Scroggins to make 12 saves. Little Rock also made South Alabama keeper Justice Stanford work on Sunday, forcing her to make two saves including one on a breakaway opportunity.

And despite two losses, the Trojans saw their national RPI shoot up this week. The team was in the 170s last week and is now ranked No. 149 in the country.

Arkansas State comes to the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex with a 2-5-3 record on the year and a 0-3-1 mark in Sun Belt play. The Red Wolves will take on Appalachian State on Friday at home before playing the Trojans on Sunday in Little Rock.
