HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Little Rock sits 13th after the opening round of the 2018 Little Rock Women's Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club. The Trojans posted a 27-over 315 on day one, sitting 13th among the 16-team field.

The Little Rock effort was led by 4-over 76 from senior
Emelie Blennow, who is tied for 24th individually after 18 holes. Freshman
Kellie Gachaga was the only other Trojan to notch a sub-80 round, shooting a 7-over 79 in her first tournament at Diamante.
The remaining three Trojan freshmen each finished with an 8-over 80, comprised of
Malena Austerslaatt,
Tilde Bocker and
Sydney Scraba. Junior
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann shot a 9-over 81 with senior
Lucy Owen posting a 10-over 82 as the duo are competing as individuals.
Little Rock enters Monday's second round four shots back of both UMKC and Northern Iowa (23-over 311), who are both tied for 11th, and is seven shots back of 10th-place Western Kentucky (20-over 308). The Trojans hold a three-shot lead on rival Arkansas State after the Red Wolves card a 30-over 318.
UTEP and South Alabama hold the team lead after 18 holes as the Miners and Jaguars are both at 9-over 297. They lead third-place Lamar (11-over 299) by two shots with Central Arkansas and Missouri State (15-over 303) tied for fourth overall.
Little Rock will begin its second round at Diamante in the second wave teeing off from hole 10, beginning with Scraba's 9:45 a.m. tee time and leading up to Blennow getting underway at 10:21 a.m. Live scoring of the event is available at
