LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Ohio Valley Conference announced Tuesday morning that Little Rock junior
Eleonore Aernouts has been named the league's
Female Golfer of the Month for October.
"Elenore played really well to end the season," said Little Rock head coach
Jenna Birch. "She nearly won the Lady Red Wolves Classic and was solid again at the Diamante Intercollegiate. She's worked really hard, and it's great to see that pay off as the season came to a close."
Aernouts posted a
71.2 stroke average over two tournaments in October, recording
four rounds under par. She finished
second out of 102 competitors at the Lady Red Wolves Classic with a three-round total of
210 (-6), just three shots off the lead. Her pair of 69s in that event tied for the
fourth-lowest rounds by an OVC golfer this season.
She closed the fall with a
1-over 217 at the Diamante Intercollegiate, earning a
19th-place finish.
"I worked hard and kept believing in myself, and my play in October is a testament to that," Aernouts said. "I'm very honored to receive this award."
