Trojans Add Knapp for 2019-2020 Season

LITTLE ROCK – Alayzha Knapp signed with the Little Rock Women's Basketball team as a part of the 2019 signing class, Head Coach Joe Foley announced today.

"Alayzha has a rare combination of size to play inside and the versatility to play on the perimeter," Foley said. "In addition, she has the quickness to guard a number of different positions on defense and I am excited about getting to coach her."

Knapp prepped at Union High School in Tulsa, Okla. under Joe Redmond and played AAU basketball for Jim Perinovic and the Oklahoma Swarm Blue Star.

"Alayza is a strong, versatile athlete with the ability to dominate a game on both ends of the floor," Redmond said. "She is capable of guarding multiple positions and has to ability to score with her back to the basket. We are expecting great things from her this season too. Her best basketball is certainly ahead of her and I am excited about her future at Little Rock."

She averaged 11.4 points per game, 10.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game for the Swarm.

"Alayza is a great young lady who, over the last two summers, has become one of the most premier players in Oklahoma because of her work ethic, commitment to improve and confidence," Perinovic said. "We are very excited to see her continue to develop at Little Rock."

Knapp was also recruited by Kansas State, Kansas and Tulsa.
