Little Rock Opens Indoor Season at Vanderbilt

LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock Track and Field team kicks off its indoor season tomorrow, Dec. 1, in Nashville, Tenn. at the Vanderbilt hosted Vanderbilt Indoor Opener.
 
The field events will begin and 10 a.m. with the men's and women's high jump and conclude with the shot put at 3:15. The running events start at 1:00 p.m. with the 60m hurdles and wrap up at and 5:10 and 5:25 with the women's and men's 4x400m relay.
 
"This group has been working extremely hard since early September and everyone is excited to see where they are at heading into the indoor season," said Head Coach J.P. Behnke. "We will be facing a couple of the top mid-major track program at this meet so it will be interesting to see how we stack up."
 
Senior Charles Okeze returns to action after representing the Trojans in last year's NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., finishing 20th overall in the 200m. The Okpanam, Nigeria product became the first individual Trojan to race at the NCAA Championships since 2005 and was the first to compete in the 200m since 1997. He competes first in Section 8 of the men's 60m, slated to take place at 1:45 p.m.
