Trojans to Host Conference USA Foes

LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock women's basketball team will host Conference USA foes Florida Atlantic, Rice and WKU on Nov. 14, Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 at the Jack Stephens Center.

Little Rock faced Rice just last season, but this will be the first time the Trojans have faced FAU and WKU since their final seasons in the Sun Belt Conference in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

The Trojans will put their 9-0 mark against Florida Atlantic to the test in the 2018-19 home opener. In FAU's three visits to the Jack, Little Rock has won all contests by an average of 25.33 points.

FAU finished last season with an overall record of 14-15 and tied for seventh in Conference USA with a record of 7-9.

Against Rice, Little Rock owns a 7-2 record, and the Trojans are undefeated at home with a record of 4-0. Little Rock last hosted Rice in 2012 and won by a score of 76-48. The two faced each other last season in Houston, but Little Rock fell 51-58.

Rice finished with an overall record of 23-10 last season and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. In conference play, it tied for third with a record of 10-6.

Former conference rival WKU is set to visit the Jack for the first time since 2014. In that game, Little Rock earned a 58-51 win to earn its third home win over the Hilltoppers. They met for the last time in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and saw WKU earn a 66-62 win. WKU owns the series lead at 22-7 and holds a 10-3 record in Little Rock.

Last season, WKU ended the year with an overall record of 24-9 after winning the Conference USA Tournament and falling to Oregon State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It finished conference play in second place with a record of 12-4.

The Trojans will return a wealth of experience with 10 players from last season's Sun Belt Conference championship squad. All-Sun Belt First Team selection Ronjanae DeGray and sister Raeyana DeGray will round out their four-year career with the program while sophomores Tori Lasker and Terrion Moore look to build upon their fruitful freshman seasons. Incoming freshmen Gabby Dodson, Heaven Mbaruk, Antwainette Walker and Krystan Vornes are also set to join.
