LITTLE ROCK - As Hurricane Florence draws closer to the east coast, its effects are being felt all over the collegiate athletic world, including stretching into Little Rock.
Women's golf was scheduled to compete at the East Carolina Pirate Collegiate Classic this weekend in Greenville, North Carolina, but due to the impending storm, that tournament has been canceled.Â
Little Rock will now make a quick turnaround from its first tournament of the year and head to Mobile, Alabama, competing in the South Alabama Intercollegiate at Magnolia Grove Golf Club. The event gets underway Saturday, September 15 and concludes Monday, September 17.
Women's golf will not be the only Trojan athletic program affected as soccer is scheduled to open Sun Belt Conference play this weekend at Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. With that area expected to feel the full brunt of Hurricane Florence, plans are already be made to change either the dates and/or locations of those games.Â
