JONESBORO, Ark. – Sophomore
Malena Austerslaatt posted a career-best 3-under 69 over the final round, tying the 11th lowest round in program history, as Little Rock placed seventh at the Lady Red Wolves Classic at Sage Meadows Country Club.

The Trojans posted a 13-over 301 over the final 18 holes, settling into sole possession of seventh place in the team standings with a 40-over 904. Little Rock finished one shot better than eighth-place Austin Peay (41-over 905), sitting three shots back of sixth-place Samford (37-over 901) and six shots out of fifth, occupied by Belmont (34-over 898).
Austerslaatt's 3-under 69 was her first career round in the 60s, tied for the 11th lowest round in program history and the lowest since
Emelie Blennow's 69 at the USA Intercollegiate in September of 2018. Austerslaatt posted her first career top-10 finish, tying for 10th overall and setting a new personal-best for a 54 hole tournament at 4-over 220.
Senior
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann just missed a top-20 finish herself, tying for 21st at 9-over 225, including a 7-over 79 over the final 18 holes. The 225 is her new 54-hole tournament best as well, besting her previous mark of 232 set at the 2017 Johnie Imes Invitational.
Sophomores
Tilde Bocker and
Sydney Scraba tied for 34th overall at 15-over 231 with Bocker posting a 5-over 77 and and Scraba adding a 7-over 79 over the final round. Sophomore
Kellie Gachaga rounds out the Trojan scorecard with a 23-over 239, posting a 4-over 76 Tuesday.
Arkansas State captured the team title with a 9-over 873, defeating both Lipscomb and Southern Illinois (17-over 881) by eight strokes. Sun Belt foe UT Arlington (19-over 883) finished fourth with Belmont settling into fifth.
After three tournaments in the last three weeks, Little Rock will have a week off before closing out the fall season with the annual Little Rock Women's Golf Classic. The yearly staple of the season will once again be held at Diamante Golf Club in Hot Springs Village, taking place Sunday, October 27 through Tuesday, October 29.
