HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – A competitive opening round of the 2019 Little Rock Women's Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club has the Trojans tied for 15th overall but just three shots out of fifth. Little Rock notched a 15-over 303 through the first 18 holes, entering Monday's second round in a three-way tie.

Play was delayed for 90 minutes Sunday morning due to heavy fog, but conditions remained nearly ideal once play began with temperatures in the low 60s and very little wind. Teeing off in the second wave from hole one, the Trojans posted 60 pars on the day, tied for fourth among the 17-team field.
Little Rock's efforts were led by
Sydney Scraba's 2-over 74 as she sits tied for 18th in the individual standings. After going 2-over on the front nine, Scraba was even over the back nine, logging a pair of birdies to complement five pars.
Tilde Bocker is one shot back of Scraba with an opening round 75, tied for 31st individually. She holds a one stroke lead on
Kellie Gachaga, who registered a 4-over 76 in round one.
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann and
Malena Austerslaatt each carded a 6-over 78 to close out the Trojan scorecard.
The competitive field battled back and forth all day as 12 teams all sit within three shots of each other heading into Monday's second round. Tied with Central Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin, the Trojans are one stroke behind Arkansas State (14-over 302) and two shots back of Houston Baptist, Kansas City and Utah Valley, who are in a three-way tie for 11th at 13-over 301.
Western Kentucky holds the opening round lead at 3-over 291, two shots ahead of second-place California Baptist (5-over 293) and four shots ahead of third-place Bradley (7-over 295). Sun Belt rivals ULM and UT-Arlington (9-over 297) are tied for fourth, three shots better than a five-team logjam in a tie for sixth at 12-over 300.
Monday's second round gets underway with 8:30 a.m. tee time starts from holes one and 10 as Little Rock will be among the final wave to tee off on the back nine. Playing with Houston Baptist and Arkansas State, the Trojans begin their second round with Austerslaatt's 10:10 a.m. tee time, leading up to Scraba at 10:50.
