GLENCOE, Ala. – Little Rock posted the low round of the day over the final 18 holes and was the lone team to break 300 in the final round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic. The Trojans notched an 11-over 299 over the final round at Silver Lakes Golf Club, jumping three spots to finish sixth with a 75-over 939.

All five Trojans posted rounds in the 70s Tuesday with sophomore
Kellie Gachaga registering the first top-20 finish of her Little Rock career. Gachaga notched a 2-over 74 over the final round, tying for 14th individually with a 15-over 231 and finishing at even-par on the par-three holes, tying for fifth among the tournament field.
Sophomore
Malena Austerslaatt recorded the low round of the day for Little Rock with an even-par 72, tying her career low and just missing a top-20 finish of her own, tying for 22nd with a 18-over 234. Austerslaatt finished with nine birdies during the two-day event, tied for the fifth-best among the individual competitors.

Tilde Bocker tied for 26th individually with a 20-over 236, including a 5-over 77 over the final round. Senior
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann notched a 25-over 241, including a 7-over 79 over the final 18 holes, with sophomore
Sydney Scraba rounding out the scorecard with a 38-over 254.
Entering the final round in ninth-place, Little Rock leapfrogged a pair of teams to register its best team finish of the season to date. The Trojans were 14 strokes better than seventh-place Alabama State (89-over 953) while finishing 11 shots back of fifth-place Elon (64-over 928).
Sun Belt foe Troy captured the team title with a 37-over 901, besting runner-up Murray State (41-over 905) by four shots. James Madison (46-over 910) placed third with host Jacksonville State (51-over 915) and Elon rounding out the top five ahead of the Trojans.
The busy fall slate continues for Little Rock as the Trojans will compete in their third-straight event next week, making the short drive to Jonesboro for the Lady Red Wolves Golf Classic. Hosted by Arkansas State, the tournament will be held at Sage Meadow Golf Club October 14 and 15.
