JONESBORO, Ark. – In the final tune-up before the Sun Belt Conference Championships later this month, Little Rock had a number of strong performances at the Scarlet and Black Open Friday in Jonesboro.

J.P. Behnke's squad captured three different events on the day with 13 top-five event finishes. The meet was highlighted in the 3,000 meter run where the Trojans captured both the men's and women's races.
Rogelio Araiza won the men's race with a time of 9:07.15 with
Hannah Manning winning the women's side at 11:07.86.
Carter Reynolds placed fifth for the men with a time of 9:31.97.
Emmanuel Olie had a productive day at First National Bank Arena, winning the men's 55 meter dash with a personal record time of 6.54 – the 41st fastest time in the nation this season. Olie also placed fourth in the men's 200 meter dash, six-tenths of a second off his personal-best.
Little Rock placed a pair in the top-five in the women's 55 meter dash with Christina Nickerson placing second with a personal-best time of 7.44, followed by
Bria Allen finishing fourth at 7.75. Allen also placed fourth in the women's long jump with a mark of 4.80 meters.
The Trojans had a pair finish in the top-five of the women's 400 meter dash with Dasia Harris placing fourth (1:01.90) and Akeia Joyner finishing fifth (1:02.37).
Other top-five finishers for Little Rock included
Makayla Smith finishing fourth in the women's 55 meter hurdles (9.54) and
Jarred O'Connor placing fifth in the men's mile run (4:32.76) with the women's 4x400 meter relay team finishing third with a time of 4:17.99.
Little Rock now will have a little over a week off before getting set to compete in the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Championships. The meet will be held Monday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 19 at the Birmingham CrossPlex complex.
