Little Rock Looks for First Win at UT Martin

LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans will look for their first win of the season on Aug. 25 at 71p.m. in Martin, Tenn. when they take on Ohio Valley Conference opponent UT Martin.

Little Rock is coming off a tough 6-0 defeat to No. 20 Memphis. The Tigers proved to have some very talented attacking players, making the most of their possession in the attacking third. Clarissa Larisey scored a hat trick in just four minutes of play to lead Memphis going forward in the first half.

Trojan Leaders
Fanney Einasdottir led the team with three shots with one on target. Eight freshmen made their debut in the maroon and silver which gave the team some much needed fitness early in the season. Sara Johannsdottir made four saves on the night while Julia Curatolo made three saves in her first action as a Trojan.
 
Last Time Out
Little Rock's defense struggled in the season opener, allowing six goals in the first 45 minutes of their contest against No. 20 Memphis. The Tigers scored in the 10th minute before doubling their lead in the 16th minute. Larisey would go on to score three goals in rapid succession before Tanya Boychuk scored the sixth goal of the night.
 
Scouting the Skyhawks
UT Martin comes into their first contest of the season ranked as the No. 65 team in the RPI standings. In 2018, the Skyhawks won the OVC but fell in their conference championship game. UT Martin finished with a 15-3-1 overall record (9-0-1 OVC). The Ohio Valley Conference opponent won their opening match against Arkansas State, grabbing a 3-1 victory at home.
 
Series History
Little Rock's matchup with UT Martin marks the ninth meeting in the teams' history. The Skyhawks own a 4-3-1 series advantage with the last meeting coming in 2005 when UT Martin grabbed a 3-0 win over the Trojans.

Little Rock will play their home opener on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. when the Trojans take on Grambling State.
