Little Rock Prepares for Home Opener

LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans will play host for the first time this season on Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. in Little Rock, Ark. when they play their home opener against Grambling State. Food Trucks will be available at the game for fans to enjoy. The first 100 students will receive a $7 voucher to purchase food and refreshments at the game.

Little Rock is coming off a 0-0 draw at UT Martin. The two teams would prove to very evenly matched as the shot and possession totals were extremely close throughout the whole contest. The Trojans are looking for their first win of the season when they host Grambling State at Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex

Trojan Leaders
Fanney Einasdottir leads the team with seven shots and two on target. Morgan Smocovich sits right behind her with three shots as the Trojans are still seeking their first goal of the season. Julia Curatolo has yet to concede a goal between the posts for Little Rock, making eight saves and shutting out her opponents in 155 minutes of play.
 
Last Time Out
Little Rock battled to a 0-0 draw in their previous match at UT Martin. Despite being awarded a penalty in the dying minutes of regulation, the Trojans were unable to convert from the spot. After two 10-minute overtime periods, the match would end in a scoreless draw.
 
Scouting the Tigers
Grambling State comes into their third contest of the season with a perfect 2-0 start. The Tigers grabbed a 2-0 victory over LSU-Shreveport before winning a tight 3-2 contest over ULM. In 2018, Grambling State finished with a 14-8 overall record (9-1 SWAC). Kailey Pena leads the Tigers with two goals in two games while Sarah Teubner leads with two assists to her name.
 
Series History
Little Rock's matchup with Grambling State marks the third meeting in the teams' history. The teams are deadlocked at 1-1 in the series with the last meeting coming in 2004 when the Tigers grabbed a 4-3 win over the Trojans.
 
Looking Ahead
Little Rock will head to Tulsa, Okla. on Friday Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. when the Trojans take on Tulsa.
