LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - After notching their first win of the season at their home opener, the Little Rock Trojans soccer team will look to grab two more wins with just one day of rest in between each game.
The Trojans take to the road on Friday, Aug. 30 for a 5:00 p.m. matchup against the Tulsa Hurricanes. The team will return to the friendly confines of the Coleman Sports Complex on Sunday, Sept. 1 to host Missouri State at 1:00 p.m.
Trojan Report
Little Rock looks to continue their forward momentum after a 1-0 win against Grambling State on Wednesday. The Trojans scored a late goal in the 81st minute after playing a defense-heavy first half of the match. For more details, click here for the game recap.
Trojan Leaders
Freshman Julia Edholm owns the sole Trojan goal of the 2019 campaign, despite her defensive listing on the roster. Sophomore Fanney Einarsdottir leads the team with seven shots and two on target, while junior Morgan Smocovich sits right behind her with six shots and three on goal. Julia Curatolo, a redshirt freshman, has yet to concede a goal between the posts for Little Rock, making nine saves and shutting out her opponents in 245 minutes of play.
Scouting Tulsa
Tulsa welcomes Little Rock one week after their first contest of the season, annihilating Texas Southern 7-0. The Friday matchup against the Trojans will be the first home event for the Hurricanes. In 2018, Tulsa came to Little Rock for the first exhibition game of the year, tying 1-1 before finishing their season 7-10-1 overall and 3-6-0 in the American conference. The series record currently favors the Hurricanes at 3-16-1.
Scouting Missouri State
Missouri State has also only played in one match thus far, but will take on Central Arkansas tomorrow en route to Little Rock. They lost to Western Illinois on the road 1-2, and will be looking for a road win in the Natural state. Last year, the Bears fell at home thanks to a 1-0 Trojan victory, going on to finish 8-9-2 overall (2-3-2 MVC). However, Missouri State has the series advantage, winning 14 games to Little Rock's 5.
