LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The women's basketball season won't officially start until November but Little Rock is already embarking on its first road trip of the season. The Trojans left for a week-long trip to Costa Rica that will include team building activities, community service projects and three games against international competition.
Saturday's departure takes Little Rock's Team to Central America and the nation's capital city of San José. The team will play exhibition games on August 11, 12 and 13 after a team practice on August 10.
"A foreign trip for any team, men's or women's, is a great way to gain experience, especially with a lot of young players," Little Rock Head Coach
Joe Foley said. "It is an opportunity for our team to learn and lot and gain valuable experience with extra practices and a chance to play against foreign competition. This trip will help our team understand the game at a higher level. It is a great learning experience for our team."
The Trojans will return to the Natural State the following weekend after the games and community service event at a local school in San José.
Coming into the 2019-20 season Little Rock will return five letterwinners from a squad that 21-11, won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season.
Season tickets for the 2019-20 Little Rock Women's Basketball schedule are currently on sale by contacting the Trojan Ticket Office at (501) 565-8257. The non-conference portion of the Trojan basketball season will be announced in the coming weeks as contracts are finalized.
