MOBILE, Ala. - Sophomore
Sydney Scraba posted a 1-over 73 in the first round of the 2019-20 season, pacing the Trojans in the opening round of the USA Intercollegiate. Scraba's 73 led the Trojans to an 11-over 299 after 18 holes, sitting 12th among the 16-team field.

Scraba opened the first round of the season with a 2-over 38 through the front nine before carding a 1-under 35 over the back nine, including birdies on holes 11 and 13. She is currently tied for 25th in the individual standings, one shot better than senior
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann, who posted a new career-low with a 2-over 74. Wakeford-Wesmann was solid all day, birdieing the final eight holes to sit tied for 30th.
Sophomore
Kellie Gachaga put together a productive opening round for Little Rock as well, shooting a 3-over 75 with four birdies on the day. She sits tied for 43rd overall with sophomore
Malena Austerslaatt (5-over 77) and sophomore
Tilde Bocker (7-over 79) rounding out the Trojan scorecard.
Little Rock's 299 places the Trojans among a three team logjam within two shots of each other. After round one, Little Rock is one shot back of 11th-place ULM (10-over 298) while sitting two shots behind 10th-place Grand Canyon (9-over 297). The Trojans will hold a six stroke cushion on 13th-place Samford (17-over 305) heading into Sunday's second round.
UAB holds the team lead at 3-under 385, three shots better than second-place North Florida (Even-par 288). Houston Baptist (1-over 289) is third with Troy and Western Kentucky (3-over 291) tied for fourth, one shot better than sixth-place South Alabama (4-over 292) and two shots ahead of seventh-place Arkansas State (5-over 293).
Sunday's second round gets underway with an 8 a.m. tee time start as the Trojans will be in the first wave to tee off from hole 10. Little Rock will play with Sun Belt rivals Arkansas State and ULM in the second round groupings as live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
