Trojans to Hold First Home Conference Matches

LITTLE ROCK - The Trojan soccer program (3-5-3, 0-1-1 Sun Belt) will return to the Coleman Sports Complex for their first home conference matches of the season. Little Rock hosts Texas State on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m. and Louisiana on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1:00 p.m.

Trojan Report
Little Rock made the long trek to the state of Georgia last weekend to open its conference slate, opening with a 1-0 loss to Georgia State on Friday before heading to a double overtime draw at Georgia Southern. Trojan Leaders
The leaders of the team have stayed relatively the same: freshman Julia Edholm continues to lead the Trojans with three goals scored, followed by classmate Mari Young with two. Junior Morgan Smocovich has assisted five of Little Rock's 10 goals for far, tied with three others for the most in the Sun Belt. In goal, redshirt freshman Julia Curatolo now has accumulated 35 saves, earning a career-high eight the last time the Trojans were out, and also leads the league in shutouts.

Scouting Texas State
Texas State holds a record of 4-4-1 (0-1-0 Sun Belt) going into Friday's match, having only played one conference match last weekend. The Bobcats fell to South Alabama at home in double overtime, 1-0. In addition, Texas State has not won a game since Sept. 1. Last year, the Bobcats won the Sun Belt regular season, tying Little Rock 1-1 during conference play but falling to the Trojans in penalty kicks at the Conference Championship. Before 2018, Little Rock had never even tied Texas State.

Scouting Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns are currently 4-3-2 (0-0-1 Sun Belt), also having only played one conference match this season so far. After tying South Alabama 0-0 in double overtime last weekend, Louisiana will travel to Arkansas State before heading to Little Rock on Sunday. The Ragin' Cajuns have certainly lived up to their name this year, leading the league in offsides and yellow cards as well as second in shots and fouls. In 2018, Louisiana was crushed 3-0 by the Trojans, failing to qualify for the Conference Championship.
