Shanika Butler Named to Little Rock 20th Anniversary Team

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock is honoring the modern era of its women's basketball program with the unveiling of its 20^th Anniversary Team recognizing the best of the best of the past 20 years. The 2011 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year, Shanika Butler, is the next honoree.
 
A second team all-conference honoree in 2011, Butler was the league's Defensive Player of the Year after compiling 66 steals, a year after setting the school record for a season with 99 swipes. She concluded her career with 197 steals total, a mark that ranks third in school history, while her average of 1.9 steals per game ranks second in school history.
 
Butler also ranks fifth in career assists (356), seventh in assists per game (3.4) and sixth in offensive rebounds (203).

In all, there will be 20 players announced as part of the Little Rock Women's Basketball 20^th Anniversary Team. Members of the team will be announced periodically throughout December and January leading up to the Trojans' Jan. 18 game against Arkansas State, where the entire team will be recognized during the game.
