Teal Battle Claims Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock senior forward Teal Battle was recognized by the Sun Belt Conference Wednesday as she was named to the league's Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
 
Battle led the team last season with 176 rebounds – averaging 5.7 per game – and is second on the team with 422 points and an average of 13.6 points per game. But as she continued to work the paint and teams repeatedly fouled her, she continued to make them pay. Her 134 free throws made ranked 32nd nationally last season and was the second-most in school history as she went 12-for-12 at the charity stripe against South Alabama.
 
Battle was named the Sun Belt's Player of the Week last season following a dominating performance in Trojan wins over ULM and Appalachian State back in January and she went on to receive All-Sun Belt Third Team honors.
