KYLE, Texas - Little Rock had a strong opening round in the first tournament of the spring, then darkness suspended round two before the Trojans could finish competition at the Texas State Invitational. Little Rock was sixth after 18 holes and unofficially is tied for ninth at the close of day one.
The Trojans shot a 16-over 304 over round one, sitting sixth among the 15-team field.
Tilde Bocker closed out the morning round with a 1-over 73, tied for sixth among the individual standings.
Sydney Scraba joined her in the top-20, ranking tied for 18th with a 3-over 75.
Malena Austerslaatt and
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann each posted a 6-over 78 with
Kellie Gachaga recording an 11-over 83.
The second round was suspended with players needing between one to four holes to conclude the day as the Trojans unofficially are in a four-way tie for ninth at 46-over. Bocker remains tied for sixth at 5-over through 14 holes while Austerslaatt and Scraba are tied for 47th with one and two holes remaining, respectively.
After the completed round one, Little Rock was one shot out of the top-five behind fifth-place Oral Roberts at 15-over 303. The Trojans were six shots back of a three-way tie for second, comprised of Sam Houston State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UT San Antonio. Host Texas State held the team lead at 6-over 294 after round one.
With a handful of holes left in round two, teams will complete their rounds at 8:30 a.m., then continue on to round three immediately following while keeping the same groupings. Live scoring of the final day of competition is available at GolfStat.com.
