KYLE, Texas – Little Rock closed out the opening tournament of the spring season by finishing 13th at the 2020 Texas State Invitational. The Trojans carded a 78-over 942, including a 25-over 942 over the final 18 holes.

Beginning with the resumption of the suspended second round, Little Rock closed out round two with a 37-over 325, slipping from sixth to 11th overall. The Trojans then shaved 12 shots off its second round total over the final 18 holes, but still slipped two spots in round three to settle into 13th among the 15-team field.
Tilde Bocker was the top Trojan finisher, closing out the two-day event with a 13-over 229 and tying for 18th overall, matching the best individual finish of her career and logging her second career top-20 showing. The sophomore finished at 3-over on the par-three holes with a 3.20 average, tying for the seventh-best among the field, while finishing with a 4.17 average over the par-fours.
Thea Wakeford-Wesmann carded the low round of the day for Little Rock with a 2-over 74, tying for 41st overall with a 19-over 235. The 74 was one off her career-low set in the fall as she finished one shot better than
Malena Austerslaatt's 20-over 236, tying for 43rd.
Sydney Scraba finished the event in Texas with a 26-over 242 while
Kellie Gachaga carded a 36-over 242 as the duo both shot a 12-over 84 over the final 18 holes.
Little Rock finished five strokes out of a top-10 finish, finishing three shots back of 12th-place UT Rio Grande Valley (75-over 939), four back of 11th-place Southern Miss (74-over 938) and five strokes back of 10th-place Rutgers (73-over 937). The Trojans held off Stephen F. Austin by three strokes to finish 13th.
UT San Antonio and Sam Houston State tied for the team title at 32-over 896, three shots better than third-place Texas State's 35-over 899. Houston Baptist (53-over 917) placed fourth with Oral Roberts (57-over 921) and ULM (58-over 922) rounding out the top-six.
Little Rock will return to action next weekend, making the annual trip to Arizona for the Rio Verde Invitational. Hosted by Western Michigan, the tournament will be held February 21-23 at Rio Verde Country Club.
