HOOVER, Ala. – Little Rock compiled its best round of the week over the final 18 holes in Hoover, Alabama, carding a 13-over 301 to close out the 2020 UAB Hoover Invitational. The Trojans finished 10th at 51-over 915 over the two-day event.

Malena Austerslaatt tallied the third top-10 finish of her career and tied a personal-best with a 3-under 69 over the final 18 holes, ending the tournament tied for eighth overall at 3-over 219. Over her final round, Austerslaatt carded 13 pars and four birdies with just one bogey, finishing the event second among the 64-player field on par-three scoring at 1-under. The eighth-place tie is her best finish in a collegiate event, besting her ninth-place tie at the Rio Verde Invitational back in February.
Sydney Scraba tied for 26th overall at 11-over 227, including a 1-over 73 over her final 18 holes. She ranked third right behind Austerslaatt on par-three scoring at even par, closing out her final round with 11 pars and three birdies, going even over the back nine.
Tilde Bocker tied for 40th at 17-over 233, notching a 5-over 77 in round three.
Kellie Gachaga closed out the tournament in Alabama at 24-over 240 with
Viktoria Krnacova rounding out the Little Rock scorecard at 37-over 253.
The Trojans shaved eight strokes off their second round 309, registering the second-lowest round of the 2020-21 season Tuesday afternoon. Little Rock finished seven shots back of Sun Belt foe South Alabama (44-over 908) and was eight shots back of Troy (43-over 907) in eighth.
Indianapolis captured the team title with an 8-over 872, including a 3-under 285 over the final 18 holes to defeat Western Kentucky (14-over 878) by six strokes. Southern Illinois (23-over 887) finished third with Middle Tennessee and host UAB tying for fourth with a 27-over 891.
Little Rock will have a couple of weeks off before returning to action in mid-October, heading to northeast Arkansas for the 2020 Lady Red Wolf Classic. The event, held at Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro, will be held Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13.
