MOBILE, Ala. – Little Rock closed out the opening tournament of the 2020-21 season with a sixth-place finish at the USA Intercollegiate in Mobile. The Trojans posted a 20-over 308 over the final 18 holes, closing out the three-day event with a 47-over 911.

Malena Austerslaatt registered her first top-20 finish of the season, and the third of her career, tying for 16th overall with a 5-over 221, shooting a 6-over 78 over the final 18 holes. She finished four shots better than
Sydney Scraba, who just missed a top-20 finish at 10-over 226, tying for 22nd. Scraba recovered from a quadruple bogey on hole five to shoot even par over the remaining 17 holes, posting a 4-over 76 on the afternoon.
Tilde Bocker tied for 28th individually with a 16-over 232, closing out her final round with a 4-over 76, matching Scraba for the low round of the day for the Trojans.
Kellie Gachaga matched Bocker at 16-over 232 with
Viktoria Krnacova's 25-over 241 rounding out the scorecard for the Trojans.
Little Rock slipped one spot over the final 18 holes following a sluggish day on the course, finishing six shots better than seventh-place Lamar (53-over 917).
Western Kentucky captured the team title with a 6-under 858, finishing nine shots better than host South Alabama (3-over 867). ULM (14-over 878) placed third with UAB (15-over 879) and Arkansas State (30-over 894) rounding out the top-five.
Little Rock's fall schedule continues in two weeks with a return trip to the state of Alabama, competing in the UAB Fall Invitational September 21-22 in Hoover. The tournament was a late addition to the Trojan schedule, replacing the trip to Mizzou for the Johnie Imes Invitational after the tournament was canceled following the SEC pushing back its start date for golf to October 1.
