HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Sydney Scraba shot a 2-under 70, sitting tied for second among the individual leaders, as Little Rock is third after the opening round of the Little Rock Golf Classic, firing a 7-over 295.

The 2-under 70 is a new career low for Scraba as she ended the day with five birdies and 10 pars, sitting two shots off the individual lead. Scraba went 2-under 34 on the front nine, then went even on the back to card the 70 to pace the Trojans.
Scraba was joined in the top-20 by both
Katja Mueller and
Viktoria Krnacova as the duo are tied for 12th and 15th respectively. Krnacova is tied for 12th following an opening round 1-over 73 while Krnacova is tied for 15th following a 2-over 74. Mueller ended round one with three birdies and 11 pars with Krnacova shooting three birdies and 12 pars.
Kellie Gachaga is tied for 42nd following an opening round 6-over 78 while
Malena Austerslaatt posted a 7-over 79. Individually,
Agatha Alesson is tied for 25th after an opening round 3-over 75, followed by a 6-over 78 from
Tilde Bocker and a 9-over 81 from
Anna Dawson.
Competing on a sunny but windy day in the low 80s at Diamante, Little Rock sits third among the 11-team field with the 7-over 295, the second-lowest round of the season. The Trojans hold a one stroke lead on fourth-place UT Arlington (8-ovr 296), sitting eight shots back of Central Arkansas (1-under 287). ULM holds the team lead with a 3-under 285.
Little Rock will tee off among the second flight off hole one in Monday's second round, playing with ULM and Central Arkansas in the second round pairings. Due to expected severe storms overnight, tee times have been pushed back one hour for Monday to allow time to clean up the course, meaning the Trojans will get underway at 10:10 a.m. with Austerslaatt's tee time, leading up to Scraba at 10:42 a.m. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
