PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Little Rock shot an 8-under 280 to lead after round one at the Little Rock White Sands Bahamas Invitational. The Trojans hold a five shot lead on three different teams following Friday's first 18 holes.

The Little Rock effort was paced by solid individual efforts as four Trojan golfer sit among the top-11 of the individual standings, led by
Marcel Rauch who is tied for second following a 4-under 68. After bogeys on holes one and three, Rauch would birdie six of his next 14 holes, posting a 4-under 32 over the back.

Anton Albers, who is tied for second following a 2-under 70. Albers also had a slow start, registering bogeys on four and seven to sit at 2-over through 12 holes. But the reigning Sun Belt Golfer of the Week would go 4-under over a five-hole stretch, capped by an eagle on the par-four 17th, to sit at 2-under after round one.
Magnus Lomholt and
Archie Smith were the other two counting scores for Little Rock as the duo both posted a 1-under 71 in round one. The tandem both finished the day with three birdies and 13 pars, going a combined 3-under on the front nine.
Jansen Smith rounded out the Trojan scorecard with a 3-over 75, tied for 43rd, recovering from a 4-over front nine to shoot 1-under over the back. Individual
Hunter Walker notched a 4-over 76, registering nine-straight pars on the back nine.
Following 18 holes of play, Little Rock holds a three shot advantage on Florida Atlantic, Ole Miss and South Florida, all of which carded a 5-under 283 in round one. Little Rock is eight shots better than the trio of Jacksonville, Michigan and San Francisco, which are all tied for fifth at even-par 288.
Round two of the Little Rock White Sands Bahamas Invitational will get underway Saturday morning with a 7 a.m. CT shotgun start. The Trojans will play with Florida Atlantic and South Florida in round two, teeing off from holes one through three. Live scoring is available at
