LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Track and Field will open the indoor season this weekend as the Trojans will compete in a pair of meets in Arkansas and Kansas.
Â
Most athletes will travel to Fayetteville for the Woo Pig Classic on Friday, Dec. 3 while the throwers will head to Pittsburg, Kansas for the Crimson & Gold Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 4. Friday's meet in Fayetteville will be broadcast on SECN+.
Â
A dozen teams represented in Friday's meet includes Little Rock, Arkansas, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Tulsa and Washington.

Three Things to Know
- Back On (the) Track
Cameron Jackson was the Sun Belt's 2021 Indoor Freshman of the Year but injuries sidelined him midway through the outdoor season. Jackson has recovered and will make his return to the track in a powerful way, running as the only non-P5 athlete in the fast heat of the 60m dash.
- Throw Open the Season
While some of the Trojans will be running fast in Fayetteville on Friday, Little Rock's Team will also throw open the season in Kansas on Saturday. Several Trojan throwers are heading to Pittsburg State with their eyes on rewriting the record books, something that happened early and often during the outdoor season.
- All Eyes on the Hurdles
Trojan fans will want to pay particular attention to the hurdles on Friday. Cogan DeRousselle returns for his sophomore year and will be joined in the hurdles by three newcomers. One of those newcomers, Barry Richards, joins Little Rock's Team after running the fastest hurdles time in the nation last year at the high school level.
