BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Weather played havoc on the opening round of the UAB Spring Invitational as Little Rock completed nearly one and a half rounds at Greystone Country Club. Little Rock sat fourth after the opening round at 18-over 306 and made it through seven to 11 holes in round two before play was halted.

Little Rock closed the morning round fourth among the 11-team field, sitting two shots better than fifth-place Jacksonville State (20-over 308) and were six shots behind third-place Xavier (12-over 300).
The Trojans' opening round was paced by freshman
Agatha Alesson, shooting an even-par 72 for her first collegiate par-or-better round. Alesson was sitting at 2-under through 14 holes before bogeys on 15 and 18 brought her even as she sat fourth among the individual standings two shots off the lead.
Kellie Gachaga was also among the individual top-20 after 18 holes, carding a a 4-over 76 to sit among a five-way tie for 12th.
Viktoria Krnacova and
Malena Austerslaatt both posted 7-over 79s in round one with
Tilde Bocker adding an 18-over 90.
Storms rolled through Birmingham in the afternoon area and caused a delay to the tournament with teams scrambling to get as many holes in late in the afternoon. With more storms forecasted for Tuesday, the teams will try to get in the remaining holes from round two, shortening the event to just 36 holes.
