LITTLE ROCK - Head coach Mark Foster, assistant coach Audra Larson, and the Little Rock soccer program has officially announced the addition of six Trojans to join the team this fall, making up a deep class that will round out the Little Rock roster.
"Delighted to be able to put such a strong recruiting class together during one of the most difficult times of recruiting," said Coach Foster. "We were fortunate that where our team is right now, we only needed a final few pieces and these are all players that make Coach Audra and I excited for the future of the program."
Help the Trojans in welcoming Jana Heinen (The Netherlands), Paige Henry (Rockwall, Texas), Alicia Holmberg (Sundsvall, Sweden), Camryn Jacobs (Longview, Texas), Sofia Karlholm (Uppsala, Sweden), and Abbie Smith (Murfreesboro, Tennessee) to Little Rock. Learn more about the six additions below:
Jana Heinen
Position: Midfielder/Defender
Hometown: The Netherlands
High School: ROER College Schondeln
Club Team: M'Gladbach Academy
Coach Foster on Heinen - "Jana is an all-around player. She's going to add a lot to our team on both sides of the ball: she's going to help us attacking-wise and is a strong defensive presence. Jana is good in the air and will help us a lot in set plays. She also has the ability to play a number of positions, which will also be a big asset to the team."
Paige Henry
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Rockwall, Texas
High School: Rockwall HS
Club Team: Solar Soccer Club
Coach Foster on Henry - "Paige is a goalkeeper we've been tracking for two years. She's been coming to our camps and Coach Audra and I are really excited about how she's developed. With Paige joining our team we're really excited about the competition she's going to add to the position."
Alicia Holmberg
Position: Forward
Hometown: Sundsvall, Sweden
High School: Universal HS
Club Team: Selanger FK
Coach Foster on Holmberg - "Alicia is a natural goal scorer. She scores different types of goals and can score with both feet and her head. Her hold-up play is really good, and we're excited about the potential she'll bring to the team offensively. We believe Alicia has the potential to score a ton of goals at this level."
Camryn Jacobs
Position: Outside Back
Hometown: Longview, Texas
High School: Longview HS
Club Team: Sting Soccer Club
Coach Foster on Jacobs - "Camryn came to one of our ID camps a couple of years ago and impressed us playing forward. Since then, she started playing for her club team as a defender and has excelled in that position. We're excited to add someone to the team that can cover us in multiple positions."
Sofia Karlholm
Position: Defender/Midfielder
Hometown: Uppsala, Sweden
High School: Uppsala kommun
Club Team: IK Uppsala
Coach Foster on Karlholm - "Sofia has a very smart soccer IQ which allows her to play in multiple positions. She looks to get on the ball and play smart forward passes and make strong forward runs from defense. Her style of play will fit right in with the direction our team is moving."
Abbie Smith
Position: Defender
Hometown: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
High School: Father Ryan HS
Club Team: Tennessee Soccer Club
Coach Foster on Smith - "Abbie is a tough defender with the ball or without the ball. She's very smart in her distribution. We're excited to have her and we know her playing style will fit right in with our team."
