Lomholt, Albers Among Top-20; Little Rock Eighth After Two Rounds of Stillwater Regional

Trojans will tee off at 10:55 a.m. in Tuesday's final round

STILLWATER, Okla. – Little Rock sits eighth after two rounds at the 2021 NCAA Stillwater Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club. The Trojans posted a 9-over 585 over the opening 36 holes, sitting six shots out of fifth in their quest for an NCAA Championship berth.

Facing a threat of rain and lightning the next two days, the decision was made to play two rounds on Monday on the day with the most favorable weather forecast. The field avoided rain through the opening two rounds, playing on a cloudy day, but humid day, with the sun breaking through in the second round.
 
Little Rock was tied for fourth after round one following a 2-over 290, led by a 4-under 68 and a 3-under 69 by Magnus Lomholt. Albers registered five birdies, 12 pars and one bogey through the opening 18 holes while Lomholt notched six birdies, including three over the back nine, with  10 pars.
 
The Trojans then went on to card a 7-over 295 in the afternoon round,  led by a 1-over 73 by Lomholt, Logan Pate and Marcel Rauch. Lomholt notched four birdies and nine pars in round two, followed by three birdies from both Pate and Rauch as Pate went 2-under over the front nine and Rauch finished strong with a 1-under over the back nine.
 
In the individual standings, Lomholt and Albers sit among the individual top-20 with Lomholt checking in at 13th at 2-under 142 while Albers is tied for 15th at even-par 144. Pate is tied for 30th at 3-over 147 with Rauch (8-over 152) and Nico Horder (15-over 159) rounding out the Little Rock scorecard.
 
Pate was one of the top players on par-threes on day one, sitting at 2-under and tied for second among the 75-player field. Lomholt registered the team-best in both par-four (2-over) and par-five holes (4-under), sitting tied for fourth with 10 birdies.
 
Heading into the final round, Little Rock sits six shots out of the coveted fifth-place spot to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships. The Trojans are six shots behind fifth-place Northwestern (3-over 579), five shots back of sixth-place Sam Houston (4-over 580) and four shots behind seventh-place Auburn (5-over 581), setting up a challenging final round.
 
Host Oklahoma State holds the team lead at 17-under 559, two shots better than second-place Illinois (15-under 561). SMU (6-under 570) is third with Baylor (Even-par 576) and the Wildcats rounding out the top-five.
 
 Based on the current weather forecast, round three is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning with the Trojans scheduled to tee off beginning at 10:55 a.m. at hole one. Little Rock will play with Auburn and Ole Miss in round three, getting underway with Horder at 10:55, leading up to Lomholt's 11:39 a.m. tee time. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
