LITTLE ROCK - The Little Rock swimming and diving team will open the 2021-22 season this weekend hosting the inaugural All-Arkansas Invite at the Donaghey Aquatic Center (DAC), beginning at 10 a.m. this Saturday, September 18.
Spectators are allowed this year but must be wearing masks while inside the facility. Fans can also follow along on the MeetMobile app.
The competition will include Arkansas, Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist, University of the Ozarks, Williams Baptist, and their respective men's teams. It also marks the first time that the Razorbacks will compete at the DAC.
"This is a great opportunity to kick off our season and knock some rust off racing," said Little Rock head coach
Amy Burgess. "With most teams not having a lot of training under their belts it will be a good start to build off for the season ahead."
"We are looking forward to welcoming all our fellow Arkansas teams and showcasing the great swimming opportunities available throughout the state," Coach Burgess continued. "We hope this is a great start to a new tradition."
This weekend's invite is a welcome return to normalcy for swimming and diving. Last season, the Trojans did not compete in their first meet until late January. The return to a regular slate will give all the underclassmen,
including a strong incoming class, a longer period to test the waters.

Three seniors will be kicking off their final season of competition this weekend as well:
Carolyn Godwin,
Katelyn White and
Lea Zengerling. Each of the three have played a large role in elevating the growing Trojan team both in and out of the pool during their time in Little Rock.
In addition, keep an eye on juniors
Annya Grom and
Fer Moussier as well as sophomore
Gabriella O'Neil. The trio joined Zengerling in receiving Missouri Valley All-Conference nods last season, with Moussier, O'Neil and Zengerling earning Honorable Mentions and Grom adding All-Conference Honors for claiming two top-three finishes at the championship meet.
