NEW ORLEANS – Cameron Jackson remains the fastest man in the Sun Belt. A year after being named the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and claiming gold in the 60m, Jackson opened the 2021-22 indoor season in similar fashion with the league's best 60m dash time and third-ranking 200m mark.
Â
His 6.74 time at the Woo Pig Challenge on Dec. 3 ranks 43rd nationally as he claimed gold amidst a field of runners from Arkansas, TCU and Texas A&M. Jackson then returned to action on Jan. 14 to post a time of 21.53 in the 200m. A mere weeks into the indoor season, Jackson ranks 43rd in the nation in the 60m while ranking 44th in the 200m.
Â
Jackson's time of 6.74 in the 60m dash is his second-fastest 60m dash time, behind only the 6.72 mark he ran at last year's Sun Belt Indoor Championships. His time of 21.53 in the 200m dash is a personal best mark and ranks seventh in school history.
Â
Little Rock returns to action this weekend when the Trojans head to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational on Jan. 21-22.
