LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After a week of training since the last match, Little Rock is headed to Morehead, Kentucky for another Ohio Valley showdown.
Â
Matchup History
Â
Morehead State leads, 2-1 | Last Game: Morehead State won, 3-1, on 9/24/2000 in Morehead, Ky. | Streak: Lost 2
Â
Three Things to Know:
Â
1. Keep It Rolling
Little Rock is on a two-game win streak defeating UT Martin and Southern Indiana in its last two matchups. The victories put the Trojans above the .500 mark for the first time this season (5-4-2, OVC 2-1-0). The Maroon and Silver is off to a strong start in OVC and will look to continue this success after a quiet week of training and preparation.
2. Late Game Heroics
The past two games for the Trojans have each been decided in the final minutes of the match. Forward
Bronte Peel scored a game winning goal in the 86
th minute of the game against UT martin at the Coleman Complex two Thursdays ago. The drama continued last Sunday when freshman
Amaya Arias headed a ball into the net in the 88
th minute to seal a 1-0 win over Southern Indiana.
3. Rookie vs Vet
Morehead State is the only remaining original member of the OVC since its creation in 1948 as this academic year marks the 75
th anniversary of the conference's existence. Little Rock is one of three first-year additions to the conference along with Lindenwood and Southern Indiana. This is the first time in the Eagles and Trojans history that they will be facing off as conference foes.
