Little Rock Women Projected to Finish Third in 2022-23 OVC Preseason Poll

Joe Foley’s squad receives four first-place votes

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Ohio Valley Conference may not have experienced the challenge of facing Little Rock's women's basketball team yet. But despite the lore, banners and records, the Trojans' new league isn't ready to crown Little Rock's Team champions quite yet.

With the release of the league's preseason predicted order of finish, Little Rock's new league picked the Trojans to finish third overall with the Maroon and Silver receiving four first-place votes.

The Trojans received 129 points overall, just five behind projected runner-up UT Martin, who also received four first-place votes. Tennessee Tech, with 147 points and 11 first-place votes, is projected to finish atop the league.

2022-23 OVC WBB Preseason Poll

Eastern Illinois, whose 115 points places them a mere 14 points shy of the Trojans, is projected to finish fourth while Tennessee State garnered 95 points and one first-place vote, is slotted to finish fifth.

SIUE (83 points), Southern Indiana (66) and Southeast Missouri (61) were picked to finish sixth. Lindenwood and Morehead State each received 33 points to tie for ninth.

Little Rock is entering its first year in the Ohio Valley Conference and the excitement is palpable in the Capital City as the new conference affiliation will bring about a more regionally-balanced schedule, the return of doubleheaders new regional rivalries and shorter travel times for fans and student-athletes to watch Little Rock's Team away from University Avenue.
