Gachaga Among Top-10 As Trojans Move Up To Fifth in the Bahamas

ATLANTIS, Bahamas – Kellie Gachaga moved into the top-10 of the individual standings and Little Rock moved up to fifth in the team standings over the second round of the Little Rock White Sands Bahamas. The Trojans posted a 12-over 300 Saturday morning, sitting at 33-over 609.

Gachaga led the Trojans in round two with a 1-over 73, moving up seven spots into a tie for sixth with a 5-over 149. Gachaga notched a pair of birdies with 13 pars in round two to sit atop the Trojan scorecard and in the individual top-10.
 
She holds a five shot lead on Katja Mueller, who is just outside the top-20, tied for 21st with a 10-over 154 following her second round 4-over 76. Viktoria Krnacova and Agatha Alesson are one shot back at 11-over 155, tied for 25th, with Krnacova shooting a 3-over 75 and Alesson adding a 4-over 76.
 
Anna Dawson rounds out the Little Rock competitors, sitting tied for 29th at 12-over 156 following a second round 8-over 80. Malena Austerslaatt is tied for 35th competing as an individual at 16-over 160 following her second round 9-over 81.
 
Through 36 holes, Little Rock is among the tournament leaders in par-five scoring, sitting second among the field at even-par. That effort is led by Gachaga's 2-under, tied for second, Alesson at 1-under and Krnacova sitting even. Alesson leads the team with 24 total pars, tied for sixth among the field, while Gachaga has posted a team-best five birdies, tied for seventh.
 
Little Rock leapfrogged Memphis (42-over 618) to move into fifth in round two, five shots back of fourth-place UNC Greensboro (28-over 604) and seven back of third place Arkansas State (26-over 602) in third. Lipscomb holds a convincing lead at even-par 576, leading second-place Central Arkansas (25-over 601) by 25 shots.
 
Sunday's final round will once again with a 7 a.m. CT shotgun start as the Trojans will play with UNC Greensboro and Memphis in the final round groupings, teeing off from holes six through 10. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
