Little Rock Adds Britney Mapang to Roster

Defensive standout to join Trojans this month, will redshirt this season, will have two years of eligibility

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Women's Basketball Coach Joe Foley announced the addition of guard Britney Mapang to the Trojans' roster Monday afternoon.

The recent product of Garden City CC, Mapang will join the Trojans this month and will have two years of eligibility remaining after redshirting the remainder of this season.

"Britney is one of the hardest working athletes in our program," Garden City CC Head Coach Antwan Scales said. "She is a relentless competitor on the hardwood and a great person off the court. She is a tremendous example of what it means to be a student-athlete."

A 5-foot-9 guard originally from Paris, France, Mapang was named the 2021-22 Defensive Player of the Year in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC). During that season, she played in 28 games and averaged 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 39.7% from the field.

"I have always liked having a defensive stopper on my roster here at Little Rock," Trojans Head Coach Joe Foley said. "With Britney's athleticism, mindset and ability to defend multiple positions on the floor she could step into that role for us."

Little Rock hosts Texas A&M Tuesday evening at the Jack Stephens Center.
