Trojans Place Sixth at Bama Beach Bash

Dawson and Scraba tied for 25th as Krnacova ties for 12th as an individual

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Little Rock placed sixth at the Bama Beach Bash, posting a 57-over 921 to conclude the 54-hole event. The Trojans notched an 18-over 306 in round two, followed by a 15-over 303 in round three as the final two rounds were played Monday to avoid the expected inclement weather Tuesday.

Entering the day tied for seventh, Little Rock moved up to fifth after the second-round 306, led by 2-over 74 from Sydney Scraba and a 4-over 76 from Katja Mueller. Agatha Alesson posted a 5-over 77 with Anna Dawson and Malena Austerslaatt both carding a 7-over 79.
 
Round three saw the Trojans shave three strokes off its second round total, led by a 3-over 75 from Alesson and Dawson. Austerslaatt notched a 4-over 76 with Mueller carding a 5-over 77 and Scraba's 6-over 78. Viktoria Krnacova also notched a final round 1-over 73 competing as an individual.
 
For the event, Dawson and Scraba led the Trojans, tying for 25th individually at 15-over 231. Mueller and Austerslaatt tied for 32nd, one shot back at 16-over 232 with Alesson right behind at 17-over 233. Krnacova registered a top-20 showing as an individual, tying for 12th at 11-over 227.
 
Krnacova was the most efficient player among the field on par-three scoring, posting a 2-under for the event, while Scraba was the top player on par-five holes, coming in at 5-under. Mueller and Dawson were the top Trojan finishers on par-four holes at 5-over as Dawson was tied for second among all competitors with 36 total pars.
 
Little Rock just missed a top-five team finish, finishing one shot back of fifth-place Jacksonville (56-over 920). The Trojans held off Central Arkansas in seventh (59-over 923) as Little Rock registered its fifth-straight top-10 team finish and the sixth in seven tournaments this year.
 
Co-host South Alabama took home the team title with a 30-over 894, finishing seven shots better than runner-up Texas State (37-over 901). Dartmouth (40-over 904) placed third with ULM (52-over 916) and Jacksonville rounding out the top-five, just ahead of the sixth-place Trojans.
 
Little Rock's busy spring schedule continues next week as the Trojans will compete in their third event in as many weeks, heading to Atlanta for the Georgia State Invitational. The event will be held March 28-29 at Rivermont Golf Club in John's Creek, Georgia.
