TUCSON, Ariz. – Elvira Flodstrom narrowly missed a top-25 finish Tuesday as Little Rock wrapped up play at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club.
The Swede finished 26th overall at nine-over par. Flodstrom opened the tournament with an even-par round Monday and continued to lead the Trojans throughout the event.
"Elvira competed with confidence all week," Little Rock head coach Jenna Birch said. "She handled a challenging course really well and stayed composed against a very strong field. That's the type of consistency we need, and she continues to take steps forward."
Cloe Poizac tied for 47th at 16-over, while Eleonore Aernouts finished tied for 50th at 17-over.
As a team, Little Rock placed 12th overall, finishing six shots behind 11th-place Charlotte and seven strokes behind No. 20 Oklahoma State.
"We wanted to play better today and make a run at moving up the standings," Birch said. "We didn't play as well today, but we will use this tournament to get better. Against great competition, consistency is key, and we need to keep improving and playing at a high level."
The Trojans return to action next Monday at the Great River Cup in Gulfport, Mississippi.
