LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock freshman
Katja Mueller has been named a second team All-Sun Belt selection, announced today by the league office.
Mueller paced the Trojans in 2021-22 with a team-best 74.53 scoring average as she was the lone Trojan to play in all 10 events on the year. Mueller's 74.53 average is the fifth-best in program history, and the lowest ever by a freshman, as she concluded the year ended the yar with five rounds of par-or-better.
Mueller finished her freshman campaign with three top-10 individual finishes, including tying for the medalist honor at the Tchefucnta Invitational with a 3-over 216 in February. She also placed sixth at the ORU Spring Invitational and tied for eighth at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, placing in the top-20 three other times including tying for 11th at the Sun Belt Championship.
The Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany native becomes the first Trojan to earn All-Sun Belt honors under head coach
Jenna Wylie and the first since Sabrina Bonanno was a second team honoree in 2018. With Mueller's all-conference honor, Little Rock closes out its time in the Sun Belt with 25 golfers earning 47 all-league honors since joining the league in the 1991-92 season.
Little Rock now sets its sights on a new conference home, joining the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2022-23 season. Wylie's squad will look to build on the success of this past year, once which saw Little Rock set a new program record for lowest single-season scoring average as the Trojans finished in the top-10 as a team in nine of 10 events with three top-five showings.
