Trojan Hall of Famer Chastity Reed Re-Signs with Professional League

Reed to enter her 13th year of professional basketball next season

ATHENS, Greece – Chastity Reed, a WNBA draft pick and Little Rock alumna that led the Trojans to their first NCAA Tournament win, recently re-signed with Panathinaikos Athens solidifying her 13th season of professional basketball for next year.
 
Reed has been a member of Panathinaikos Athens for the pas three seasons, helping the team to reach the Greek League final against eventual tournament champion Olympiacos after ending the regular season in second place. This past year she continued her dominance on the court, being named the All-Greek League Import Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and was voted to the league's All-Defensive Team. She averaged 24.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game last season and played six games in Eurocup as well.
 
A 2011 graduate that was inducted into the Little Rock Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019, Reed has spent her 12 seasons of professional basketball traveling the world as her pro career has brought her to 11 different counties on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Australia and North America). She has previously played professionally in Australia (Flames and Venom), Austria (Vienna United), Bulgaria (Beroe), Chile (Leones), Israel (Petah Tikva and Elitzur Netanya), Lithuania (Kibirkstis), Puerto Rico, Romania (Satu Mare and Alba Iulia), Sweden (Lulea Basket), Switzerland (Bellinzona) and WNBA (Phoenix Mercury).
 
Reed, the highest ever WNBA Draft pick in Sun Belt Conference history, was selected in the 2011 WNBA Draft in the third round by the Tulsa Shock, receiving the 25th overall pick.
 
The 2011 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and a 2010 All-America Honorable Mention honoree, Reed is Little Rock's all-time scoring leader with 2,207 points to her credit. She led the Trojans to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances including a 63-53 upset for Georgia Tech in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. A four-year letterwinner, Reed shot .451 (943-for-2,091) in her career, averaging 17.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
