LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After finishing the non-conference schedule last Wednesday with a win at Alabama A&M, Little Rock will now travel to St. Charles, Mo. to take on the Lions of Lindenwood University.
Matchup History
Lindenwood leads, 1-0 | Last Game: Lindenwood won, 4-1, on 9/19/90 in St. Charles, Mo. | Streak: Lost 1
Three Things to Know:
1. Back on Track
Following a brief two game home stand, the Trojans took to the road to face off against Alabama A&M in Huntsville. Little Rock came out victorious, securing a 1-0 win on a goal from midfielder
Amaya Arias and a shutout from goalkeeper
Peyton Urban. This shutout from Urban was the fifth in six games for the freshman, including four consecutive clean sheets from August 28 to September 9.
3. Change of Scenery
Sunday's match will be the first Ohio Valley Conference game for both Lindenwood and Little Rock, with the two universities joining the conference prior to the 2022-23 academic year. This is also the first year that Lindenwood is competing at the NCAA Division I level.
3. It's Been a While
Although this is Lindenwood's first year playing in Division I, there has been a matchup between these two programs in the past. On September 19, 1990, the Bulldogs and the Trojans faced one another in St. Charles, Mo. Lindenwood was the winner of the game, and this was the only time the two teams have played one another. Now that the two are conference foes, they will be seeing much more of each other.
