Three Things to Know:

1. Getting Reacquainted
The Little Rock and UT Martin soccer programs were regular opponents on each other's schedules for an eight year stretch from 1998 to 2005. They then went on an extended break where the two teams did not face one another again until 2019, a 14-year break. Since then, the Skyhawks and Trojans have battled on the pitch in two of the last three years and will continue to do so now that both are members of the OVC.
2. Avian Adversaries
Thursday's match against the Skyhawks of UT Martin represents the first of four straight games in which the Trojans will face off against programs that use some kind of bird as their primary mascot. Little Rock will not play against a non-flying creature until October 9 when they take on SIUE whose mascot is the Cougars. Games against birds and big cats make up 12 of the Trojans 16 opponents this season.
3. Celebrating Pride
This weekend the Little Rock Athletic Department is promoting the celebration of pride for the LGBTQIA+ community with events surrounding a pair of home matches for the Trojan soccer and volleyball programs. The soccer game against UT Martin will kick off Pride Weekend which will continue through the following days as Little Rock Volleyball opens up OVC play versus UT Martin at the Jack Stephens Center.
