LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After securing their first Ohio Valley Conference win against UT Martin last Thursday the Trojans will now take a trip to Evansville, Indiana for a showdown with the Screaming Eagles.
Â
Three Things to Know:
Â
1. No Matchup History
The is the first time that Little Rock has ever taken on Southern Indiana as the teams have never played against one another in their program histories. In fact, this is the first year that Southern Indiana is competing at the NCAA Division I level. Much like Lindenwood, the Screaming Eagles are making their transition to the new level of play this season.
2.A Pair of Firsts
Forwards
Bronte Peel and
Jessie Vaden each scored their first goals of the 2022 season in Little Rock's last game against UT Martin. Vaden, a Little Rock native, scored an unassisted goal in the third minute of the match after the ball ricocheted off the Skyhawk goalkeeper. Peel netted the game-winner in the 86
th minute with a header from an assist off the foot of
Natalee Geren.
3. OVC Tour
The Ohio Valley Conference encompasses schools from six different states: Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. Little Rock will visit each of these states, besides Arkansas, exactly once this season to play a team from each. Southern Indiana is up next, and the Trojans still have Kentucky and Illinois remaining before they complete their 2022 campaign.
