Faith Lee Named OVC Co-Freshman of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock forward Faith Lee was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Co-Freshman of the Week Tuesday, her third weekly honor this season issued by the OVC. This week Lee shared the accolade with UT Martin's Sharnecca Currie-Jelks.
 
Lee averaged 12.0 points per game and shot over 61% from the field – third best among all players in the OVC last week – as she led Little Rock to a pair of big road wins last week. Scoring 12 of her 24 points in the fourth quarter, Lee came through in the clutch as the Trojans not only were the only OVC team to win two games on the road last week but became just the second team in the past seven years to turn a fourth-quarter deficit at Tennessee Tech into a win.
 
That followed Thursday's performance at Morehead State where she scored 8 of her 10 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Trojans turn a seven-point lead entering the final period into a double-digit win. Lee didn't miss a free throw on the week while dishing out a trio of assists.
 
This marks Lee's third OVC Freshman of the Week honor of the season, making her the first Trojan since Chastity Reed in 2009-10 to claim three conference weekly awards in the same season. Reed was named the SBC Player of the Week on three separate occasions that season. Lee previously claimed Freshman of the Week honors on Dec. 13 and Dec. 27.
 
Little Rock and Lee return to the hardwood on Thursday, Feb. 2 as the Trojans wrap up a three-game road trip at Southeast Missouri. Tip-off in Cape Girardeau, Missouri is set for 5 p.m. with the game airing live on ESPN+. The Trojans then return home to the Capital City on Saturday to host SIUE in the team's annual Pink Game.
