COVINGTON, La. – Little Rock had a strong start to its 2022-23 spring season, sitting third after the first two rounds of the Tchefuncta Invitational in Covington, Louisiana. The Trojans sit at 29-over 597 after the opening 36 holes, sitting just two shots out of second in the team standings.

Round one saw Little Rock sit fourth among the eight-team field with a 19-over 303.
Agatha Alesson had a strong opening round with a 1-over 72, sitting tied for fourth in the individual standings with three birdies and 11 pars over the opening 18 holes.
Malena Austerslaatt sat second on the scorecard at 5-over 76, tied for 18th individually.
The Trojans then shaved nine shots off its opening round total in the afternoon round, carding a 10-over 294, which was the third-lowest round of the day. Alesson matched her opening round 1-over 72 in round two, sitting in sole possession of fifth-place, while Austerslaatt posted a 2-over 73 to join Alesson in the top-10, holding the number nine spot.
Three other Trojans are among the individual top-20 as
Viktoria Krnacova,
Katja Mueller and
Kellie Gachaga are all tied for 18th at 11-over 153. Gachaga notched a 1-over 73 in round one competing as an individual, with Krnacova shooting a 77-76 with Mueller notching a 78-75.
Anna Dawson rounds out the scorecard just outside the top-20, sitting tied for 23rd at 13-over 155 with a second round 2-over 74.
With 36 holes in the books, Little Rock holds a three-shot lead on fourth-place Toledo (32-over 600) and is four strokes ahead of Troy (33-over 601) in fifth. The Trojans are two shots behind former Sun Belt foe South Alabama (27-over 595) in second as Southern Miss holds the team lead at 15-over 583.
Tuesday's final round begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start as the Trojans will tee off from holes 1-4, playing with Southern Miss and South Alabama in the final round grouping. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
