LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- The Trojans are set to host Arkansas State in an exhibition match Tuesday August 8th at 6 PM.Â
History
The Trojans first battled the Red Wolves in 2000 and have since amassed a record of 8-13-6. Last year's match up resulted in a 0-0 tie.
What To Expect
Coach
Kelly Farrell enters her second season as head coach. In her inaugural season, the Trojans tallied a 5-7-5 record and 2-3-3 in conference play. "After a week of preseason training, it's exciting to be able to match up against some outside competition," said coach. "Arkansas State is well coached and will be a good challenge for us."
Last year's young core remains largely intact including the All-OVC honors recipients
Bronte Peel (First Team & All-Newcomer) and
Amaya Arias (Second Team & All-Newcomer). The dynamic freshmen duo led the team in goals with 4 a piece. They also topped the team in points with Peel scoring 10 and Arias scoring 8.Â
The Trojans enter year 2 as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. In the inaugural season, Little Rock finished 6th in regular season, but fell short to UT Martin in the opening round of the OVC Tournament.Â
